CLEAR MASCARA

CLEAR MASCARA - Elaina Badro
CLEAR MASCARA

Q: What are the benefits of using a clear mascara?

Clear mascaras give a “wet” appearance to the lashes, along with a gloss-like finish. Using a lash curler and then sealing it with a clear mascara can also help hold the curl. Great as a primer for colored mascaras to help boost volume and length.

*Also, great for setting brows!

Q: Why would you use a clear mascara?

Clear mascara provide more of a “no-makeup-makeup” look with it’s glossy finish.

Q: What are the different types of clear mascaras that you like to use?

Diorshow Maximizer 3D Triple Volume Plumping Lash Primer - this one is great used as a primer. It helps to boost lash volume, curl, and wear while improving lash appearance with daily use.

MAC Cosmetics' "Brow Set" is great as well. I like using it to set brows - it's also sweat and humidity resistant!

Q: Are there certain ingredients you like to see in a clear mascara?

CONDITIONING FORMULA - A conditioning mascara containing vitamin E and natural algae extracts to help prevent brittleness and dryness of lashes.

Q: If you have brittle lashes, what do you recommend when it comes to using a clear mascara?

I recommend Ilia's "Limitless Lash Lengthening Clean Mascara." It has Arginine (Keratin), which helps to fortify and reinforce the lashes. Also contains beeswax, which seals in moisture.

Q: What type of lash look do you like to use a clear mascara for?

I love clear mascara for a super polished look and of course, everyday use if you're looking for the conditioning benefit.

Q: How can you use clear mascara to create a wet lash look?

Using clear mascara typically offers a soft glossy like finish. I would not apply black/brown mascara on top if you're looking for a "wet" lash look.

Q: Do you ever use clear mascara to layer formulas?

You can use it underneath colored mascara because it primes the lash.

Depending on the ingredients of each brand, it can help to condition the lash and can help to even boost volume.

Q: What is the benefit of using a clear mascara on your brows?

Clear Mascara helps to set brow makeup. This will help to keep it from running and/or smudging.

Q: Can you provide application tips for applying clear mascara?

Using the Elaina Badro® “Mascara Brush” to comb through your lashes before application. This is recommended so that the clear mascara can truly reach each individual strand.

Q:What is the best way to apply a clear mascara to your brows?

I love to comb upwards, trim any unruly brow hair, and then Comb brows upwards with the Elaina Badro® “Mascara” luxury makeup brush. Then, trim any unruly brow hair, repeat combing with the Mascara luxury makeup brush, THEN apply the clear mascara. This will help to create a polished look.

Q: How can you use clear mascara to get fuller looking brows?

Combing upwards will allow each strand to be seen before setting in place.

Q: What is Best Maybelline Clear Mascara and why?

Maybelline’s “Great Lash” clear mascara is a classic! It has a gel formula and it helps to condition the lashes - can also be used to set brow makeup.

Q: What is your fave Drugstore Clear Mascara and why

Fave Clear Mascara for Sensitive Eyes and why?

Clinique is known for their gentle products, which is why I recommend it for sensitive eyes. It is free of fragrances, parabens, and phthalates. Clinique has even stated that it’s been been tested and is safe for sensitive eyes!

Q: Fave Lengthening Clear Mascara and why?

Jane Iredale’s clear mascara helps to boosts lash volume, curl, and wear. Using this clear mascara daily can help to improve lash appearance.

Please share any other clear mascaras you like for lashes and/or brows and why.

I think it's important to remind ourselves that we can let our lashes "take a break" and condition them in between colored mascara use.

Milk Makeup's "KUSH" Brow Gel is a great for setting brows in place!
